LEGAL MEANS TO RESOLVE ENVIROLMENTAL PROBLEMS IN UKRAINE

Abstract
The scientific publication examines the legal means of solving environmental problems in Ukraine, taking into account the processes of European integration. The category «legal means» is analyzed, which has the most universal character and covers all tools for regulating public relations. It is noted that legal means are characterized by a clear fixation in the current legislation. Legal means are universal, since they unite informational, organizational and technical means through their legal regulation. The implementation of legal means implies the possibility of using coercive means, including measures of legal responsibility. The basic legal means for solving environmental problems in Ukraine are singled out, among them: the implementation of European environmental standards; practical implementation of the Law of Ukraine «On Environmental Impact Assessment» and the adoption of the Draft Law «On Strategic Environmental Assessment»; strengthening of legal responsibility for environmental offenses; development and adoption of the long-term Environmental Code of Ukraine.
