Abstract
In this article the author investigates the legal nature matter and features of the mechanism of protection of the rights of the participants in criminal proceedings. Analyzes the various views of scientists on how to define the mechanism for protecting the rights and freedoms of the suspect and the accused. The mechanism of protection of rights and its legal nature is determined.
