LEXICAL SYNONYMS IN YOUTH SLANG IN THE STRUCTURE OF MODERN FICTIONAL DISCOURSE

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to identify and make a partial analysis of the slang lexical synonyms brought out in modern fictional discourse. The object of analysis is lexical synonyms of the Ukrainian youth slang in modern fictional discourse. The purpose of their use and the peculiarities оf functioning in the works by postmodern writers are determined in the result of this study. Scholarly investigations in the area of the author’s interests, and in particular, the problem of youth slang, have quite recently become the object of linguistic research (P. Grabovyj, S. Martos, L. Stavitska, І. І. Shhiur and others). Conclusions: by using slang synonymy, writers can manage to achieve semantic versatility in a condensed form of expression. The implicit communicative intentions of the sender are expressed vividly and accurately. On the basis of slang synonyms such stylistic figures as amplification, graduation, pleonasm are constructed. The youth slang represents a present-day reality and constructs the future of a language and ethnicity.
