Abstract

The article focuses on the study of relations between language and culture. It defines the main differences between lan- guages, which are caused by a unique culture of the folk. The article reveals the sense of the phraseology and a place of proverbs in it. A proverb is seen as an important part of phraseology and is a simple and concrete saying, popularly known and repeated, that expresses a truth based on common sense or experience. They are often metaphorical and have «a deep sense». They form a folklore genre. The proverbs with feminine components have a special cultural connotation and reveal the role of a woman in German society. A cultural connotation is an important concept of the linguoculturology, which is connected with the research of language issues permeated cultural and historical content. A cultural connotation is commonly understood cultural or emo- tional association that some word or phrase carries, in addition to its explicit or literal meaning, which is its denotation. Under feminine components are understood lexical units, which express a female person in German language (Frau, Mädchen, Weib). In accordance with the results of our research, woman is a person, who depends on man, but she is very important in keeping of a family well-being. The traditional place of woman is in the house, where she has to create a good atmosphere for her husband. The beauty of a woman is not her advantage in the marriage, on the contrary, it is seen as a danger, because beautiful women cannot be good wives. Some analyzed proverbs focus on the character of women and reveals some negative features of it, such as impatience, squander, trickery. But German society is constantly transforming, other values rule it, such as gender equality. These changes have an effect on the linguacultural picture of the world of Germans and reflect in new phraseological units. In a modern German society, a woman has the same rights as a man and can play part in all aspects of social life.
