Journal Title: Revue Internationale de Linguistique Appliquée de Littérature et d'Education (RILALE) - Year 2019, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
Drawing on a comparative approach to language study, this article reports the interrogative features of some of the gur languages of the gurunsi central sub group of languages, namely, djan, phuẽ́ and sissala. Using various implementation mechanisms, it proposes, the similarities and different manifestations of the total interrogation have been spotted and highlighted. Enlightening the existence or not of the interrogation tone, the popular question, exclusive question types, this research work has followed the qualitative method paradigm to echoe the semantic and syntactic contents of the Gur, Djan, Phuẽ, Sissala languages in the comparative analysis. Thereafter, the study, based on the partial interrogation point of view, has identified and compared the pre-interrogative forms endorsed in these languages. Regarding syntax the article specifies the grammatical categories, meaning and linear order(s) of the pro-forma in the sentences. Ultimately, the article sheds light on the inherent similarities and differences in the interrogations of these languages ressorties de l’étude de Borgomano.
