Journal Title: Наукові праці. Серія "Філологія. Літературознавство" - Year 2016, Vol 276, Issue 264
Abstract
The article discusses how the basic concepts of the sacred text of authoritative Christian prayer «Our Father» are perceived by Ukrainian and Russian poets. Based on the conviction that prayer is the mirror of man’s spiritual maturity, and the Lord’s Prayer is a model of prayerful appeal to God, that briefly presents all Christian teaching, the researcher set to find out the interaction of ethical dominants of Christianity with the individual- axiology and national identity of authors in the context of major philosophical, esthetic, social-historical trends of the era. The study resulted in the conclusion that the main purely Ukrainian tradition of the creative perception of the prayer is personal-national and political understanding of the sacred text, which preserves all major moral and spiritual concepts of the original text, but sometimes changes them significantly. The most common variant poetic arrangements of the Lord’s Prayer in Russian poetry is a paraphrase oriented search stylistic equivalent preserving essentially sacral-mystical ancient text.
