Management by Values in Healthcare Organisations

Abstract

The article examines reasons in favour of applying Management By Values (MBV) in healthcare organisations. The author underlines the significance of these mechanisms which cause greater workers’ obligation for acting according to values adopted within an organisation. From the perspective of employees it contributes to their greater satisfaction from their work. The paper shows a four-stage process of MBV implementing as well as identifies barriers which may hinder this process. In addition, the author presents a case study of MBV implementation on the example of a hospital.
