Mechanical properties evaluation and model finite element analysis of cork and felt based nanofilled phenolic resin composites
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2016, Vol 8, Issue 4
Abstract
The paper presents the development of numerical experiences using finite element commercial codes, based on experimental mechanical tests performed on ablative composite materials. The studied ablative materials were obtained using liquid phenolic resin matrix nanofilled with silicon carbide nanoparticles (added in different weight contents values: 0, 1 and 2 wt.% relative to the resin) that was impregnated into ablative preforms. The results of the numerical simulations are in accordance with the experimental data obtained for the tested specimens, showing that finite element analysis is a promising tool for development of a realistic simulation for advanced materials used in aerospace applications.

Unexpected Properties of the Propagations Generated by Some Time Harmonic Perturbations in a 2D Infinitely Long Straight Duct Satisfying Different Types of Boundary Conditions
In this paper the propagation, generated by some explicit permanent time harmonic perturbations are presented, in a 2D straight duct, carrying a constant gas flow. The amplitude of the perturbations is not that given by...
Integral Method for Static, Dynamic, Stability and Aeroelastic Analysis of Beam-like Structure Configurations
This work presents a synthesis of the use of an integral approximate method based on structural influence functions (Green’s functions) concerning the behavior of beam-like structures. This integral method is used in the...
PREDICTIVE ASSESSMENT OF AN AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE BEHAVIOUR FOR PASSENGER AND CREW SECURITY
In the aerospace industry one of the most important requirements in the aircraft design and operation is the high level of fiability under various atmosphere and environmental conditions. The design and validation of suc...
Aerodynamic Interference between Oscillating Lifting Surfaces and Fuselage Part 2: Some Applications of Oscillating Lifting Surface Theory
This is the second article of a series that deals with the calculation of the aerodynamic unsteady forces on lifting surfaces. It presents some new important details on the lifting surface theory that performs oscillatio...
A NUMERICAL MODEL OF THE LASER LIGHT INTENSITY TRANSVERSAL DISTRIBUTION INTO UNDEFORMED/DEFORMED OPTICAL FIBERS
Preliminary results obtained in developing a numerical model of laser light intensity transverse distribution into undeformed/deformed step index optical fiber are presented. The main purpose of the presented preliminar...
