METHOD FOR IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF TEACHING AND LEARNING OF THE RUSSIAN VERBS BY FOREIGN STUDENTS

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to improve the efficiency of teaching Russian verbs to foreign students, and to expedite their learning process; to wit : to simplify and improve the assimilation of verb forms by the foreign students being taught. The object of the analysis is the morphological classifications and the forms of conjugation of Russian verbs. The subject is the morphological characteristics of Russian verbs and their classifications, which are complex, numerous and imperfect, so they are not efficient when learning the Russian language by students that are not Russian. Learning the verbal paradigm needs a great mount of mechanical memorizing. There are numerous exceptions in learning and arising exceptions and errors. That is why this question is particularly complicated to foreign students. The theoretical classification happens to be voluminous and includes the complex system of conjugation due the historical evolution with a large number of groups and subgroups. From the studied data on the question, we offer the didactical method of teaсhing and learning the verbal forms which allows to simplify and improve the assimilation of Russian verbs by foreign students during the learning process, especially by beginners. Finding — considering the fondamental criteria of the theoretical classifications, we offer to add a supplementary criterion of frequency of use in discourse which allows to reduce the volume of mechanical memorizing and apply more rapidly the verbal forms in the construction of written and oral language. Results — this study completes the existing classifications of Russian verbs with the criterion of frequency, thanks to which teaching Russian to foreign students can be more efficient and productive, because assimilating the Russian verb as one of the most complex and voluminous parts of discourse permits accelerating the mastery of the Russian language in practice. The practical value of the research results can help solve the problem of optimizing the process of teaching Russian verbs to foreign students; and using this didactical method may also be helpful for other Slavic languages, and in the fields of linguistics and didactics.
