METHODS AND STUDY RECEPTIONS OF L. KOVALENKO’S BIOGRAPHY IN SCHOOL (IN THE FIELD OF LITERARY LOCAL HISTORY)

Abstract
The importance of literary local history studies within the limits of school literary education is outlined in the article. It’s task is to select and return study of forgotten writers names of the literary space from a certain region of Ukraine, their creative achievements. Various approaches to the problem of studying the writer’s biography in the methodology of teach- ing literature are characterized. Emphasizing the application of the historicism principle as the leading in the process of studying the biography of many Ukrainian writers, it is proposed to process the biography of L. Kovalenko in undeveloped connection with a characteristic of her era. Presentation of material through a collective creative portrait allows us to get acquainted with the biographical life facts of famous representatives of Ukrainian writing and helps students to orient themselves better in the Ukrainian political situation at that time. The study of writer’s biography through the prism of literary groups improves students’ knowledge of literary trends functioning, styles, and the evolution of certain genres. Methods of training and forms of work at the lesson are theoretically substantiated and developed in the article. It is determined that the most effective method of biography studying is teacher’s word, which is characterized by factual content, informational integrity, material completeness, emotional influence on the students. The teacher’s word is proposed to be diversified by the method of setting tasks, which stimulates students to think, their attention, and by a method of adoption of independent student research, which is based on the principle of search training. Self-creation of literary map by students in the process of storytelling allows them to learn material better and provides high performance in the class. The use of the proposed techniques in writer’s biography studying contributes the development of the linguistic and figurative thinking of students, the culture of their speech, the formation and development of aesthetic tastes, Lingvo-literal competencies.
