METHODS OF IMPROVING COMBAT EFFECTIVENESS OF HIGH-EXPLOSIVE AND HIGH-EXPLOSIVE-FRAGMENTATION PROJECTILES

Abstract
The mechanism of the influence of shock wave and splinters on the different types of targets is shown in this paper. The construction of present-day artillery ammunition and the methods of improving the fragmentation effect in projectiles are described. Other aspects of projectile effectiveness (increasing maximum range, improving accuracy of fire) are characterised. The trends of evolution in high-explosive and high-explosive-fragmentation ammunition are presented in this article.
