Abstract
The content of German proverbs is characterized by the figurativeness of the utterance, which is served by a certain set of tools, in particular, the epithet, the antithesis, the paradox, metaphor, metonymy, synecdoche, personification, play of words, hyperbole. Such quantitative representativeness has as its goal the formation of a holistic view of the availability of means of imagery in phraseological units, and later the creation of a basis for compiling a manual for students.
