Model Tests of Under Frequency Load Shedding (UFLS) for Con-nected Systems of Continental Europe
Journal Title: Acta Energetica - Year 2016, Vol 28, Issue 3
Abstract
The task force set up by working group System Protection and Dynamics within ENTSO-E model tests of Under Fre-quency Load Shedding (UFLS) for connected systems of continental Europe were carried out. Over 360 simulation scenarios were performed including 16 strategies UFLS, 2 variants of load, 6 types of contingency, with and without considering the impact of dispersed generation. On the basis of calculation results conditions for improving the effectiveness of the UFLS were specified,, including recommended changes of UFLS settings, necessary to achieve this aim. The following report contains a summary description of the test method together with the presentation of selected results of summary calculations and conclusions of the study.

Analysis of Technical Possibilities of Photovoltaic and Wind Sources Playing in an Ancillary Service of Frequency and Power Regulation
Together with a growing share of renewable energy sources (RES) in the generation sector of power systems, the interest of power grid operators in the possibilities of their use for regulation purposes is growing. The po...
Increasing Generation Capacity by Power Unit Upgrades
To ensure Poland’s energy security in the coming years will require increasing the power system’s generation capacity while at the same time improving both the efficiency of electricity generation and its use [1, 2]. One...
Pseudo-random Simulation of Synchronous Interconnections of Polish and German 110 kV Grids
The is a study of the power supply of a separated portion of a 110 kV grid on the Polish side from the German 110 kV grid. The Polish and German power systems are interconnected by exchange lines on the level of 400 kV a...
Development Strategies for Electric Utilities
Electric utilities are of key importance for the national economy. Many research institutions deal with issues of the power sector to find an answer to the question, which of the developed strategies to ensure energy sec...
Electricity Generation Reliability in a Power System Including Renewable Energy Sources
The paper presents methods of including renewable energy sources in power system reliability analyses. The focus is on solar power plants. A method of primary energy availability modelling for such sources was proposed....
