Abstract
Comenius has always been and is still recognized as the creator of didac-tics and pioneer of the theory of teaching in modern pedagogy. The knowledge Comenius was very extensive. He covered the science, philosophy, pedagogy and music education – music education, music theory, aesthetics. In each of these dis-ciplines can be found his thinking, ideas and solutions. In his musical considera-tions emphasized the humanities and philosophical approach. Comenius was a thinker Baroque and this is in its rich creativity resist. Music is not only teach, but also to move and comfort. Comenius in the Great didactic emphasized the necessity of introduction to elementary schools singing as a subject in force. He recommend-ed not only singing religious songs but also “common”, classifying a common ability to sing to those throughout life are needed to man. Jan Amos Comenius also regarded singing as an important means of educating good musical ear. Comenius attached great importance to education innate abilities. He encourages the practice of music in the family, singing, playing musical instruments for pleasure and in a fun way. Blessed be the house where they can hear the sounds of David. Thoughts on the music of Johann Comenius still have a timeless character and can provide inspira-tion for us today. Keywords: John Amos Comenius, music, music education
