NATIVES OF UMAN’S REGION IN THE ARMY OF UNR

Abstract
Today it is difficult to overcome persistent stereotypes of Soviet consciousness, the creation of which worked for a long time a powerful ideological machine of a totalitarian state. But after the Maydan’s events, Dignity Revolution, and during today’s anti-terrorist operation (WAR) when killed thousands of Ukrainian soldiers, we have objective and in-structive to learn the lessons of history and not repeat them. Russian Federation one in one recreates a war scenario with the forces of UNR Army of 1917-1921. One of such historical myths was made about the events of Ukrainian national-democratic revolution 1917-1921. These events were given as the the uncompromising struggle of the two main acting bodies: bolshevists and counter-revolutionary camp, to that and whiteguards, and nationalmotions, and yesterday’s allies of bolshevists, were artificially added among socialists. The question of activity of UNR Army, antibolshevist struggle inUkraine and problem of peasant-insurgent motion is devote to thorough studies, that are performed on the materials of the Central State Archives of Ukraine, Branch Ar-chive of the Security Service of Ukraine regional state archives, researchers I.Sribnyaka, V.Scherbatyuka, R.Kovalya, J. Tinchenko, O.Shatayla, O.Skrypnyka and others. On the basis of the published documents natives from Uman that served inUNR Army were personalized. The vital and battle way of generals of Ukrainian People’s Army of Petro Dereschuk and OleksandrZahrodskyi – natives from Uman, the fates of which are united by one aim – to win a free and unified Ukrainian is analysed in the article.
