Analysis of tendencies in households water consumption in Polish cities
Journal Title: Zarządzanie i Finanse - Year 2013, Vol 11, Issue 3
Abstract
The proper management of water consumption by economy and households is very important nowadays especially in countries with limited water resources. The changes in water demand depend on many factors such as increase of water price and application of water saving technologies. The Authors analyzed the changes in households water demand in selected Polish cities in 1995–2011. Also they tried to find out whether the Polish households have achieved optimal level of water consumption and if convergence in water demand could be observed. In case of convergence occurring it is possible to compute the steady-state point and also long-term forecasts of water consumption. Additionally the Authors tried to classify Polish cities according to the tendencies in water consumption. The control variables such as city size or level of wages were incorporated into analysis.
