În studiu s-au cercetat bacteriile parodontopatogene în APM, iar pe 122 de cazuri s-au evaluat genurile de aceleași microorganisme după detartrajul cu Waterlase Er, Cr: YSGG (MD), manual și cu ultrasunet.
