NEW PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN GERMAN (ON THE MATERIAL IN THE 2000s AND THE 2010s)

Abstract
The article deals with the phraseological developments in Modern German in the 2000s and 2010s. The study is based on author’s corpus of 80 phraseological units. It also examines the terms «neologism» and the classification of neologisms in German Linguistics. Neologism is a new word or expression in a language, or a new meaning for an existing word or expression. Neologisms can be classified according to their coinage processes: 1) new created words and expressions which describe new ideas and things and 2) new words and expressions coming from old words and expressions but with new meanings. A part of new created expressions in the 2000s and 2010s of XXI century are the phraseological units. Phraseological unit is a word group with a fixed lexical composition and grammatical structure, its meaning is generally figurative and cannot be derived from the meanings of the phraseological unit‘s component parts. The types of phraseological units are investigated (nominative, prepositional ect.).The typical lexical and grammatical features, types of new phraseological units in Modern German are described. The cognitive linguistic view at neologisms is used for their classification (concept spheres MAN’S WORLD and CULTURE). The article has a close look at the period the new idioms were coined in and offers the perspectives on the linguistic investigation in Modern German Linguistics by domestic and foreign scientists.
