Novel challenges of stem cell therapy in neurodegenerative disorders
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Research in Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Year 2018, Vol 6, Issue 2
Abstract
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterized by progressive dysfunction, loss & death of neurons. In recent years, neurons and glial cells have been successfully generated from stem cells, by this from stem cell brain transplantation therapies have been carried out by the investigators. If we are able to replace the lost neurons and glial cells through the stem cell therapy then we are able find a way to cure many neurodegenerative diseases. In this study three main types of neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s diseases & it's pathology will be known with underlying causes, followed by current treatments and finally from this review we can understand the current evidence for the role of stem cells in treating these neurodegenerative disorders.

Evaluation of in-vitro anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activity on hydro-alcoholic extract of Murraya koenigii aerial parts
Hydro alcoholic extract of Murraya koenigii aerial parts (family Rutaceae) was assessed for its antiinflammatory and anti-oxidant by in-vitro methods. In-vitro anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated using albumin dena...
The neohydrodynamic theory of dentinal hypersensitivity
The neohydrodynamic theory of dentinal hypersensitivity is to reveal the real mechanism behind the dentinal hypersensitivity. The hydrodynamic theory proposed by Branstrom will support only under pathological condition...
S0Synergistic effect of selected anticancer drugs with Vitamin – E against HT29 human adenocarcinoma cell lines
The present study was investigate to study the synergistic effects of selected anti-cancer drugs i.e. 5-FU, IR and Vitamin-E (Vit-E) on induction of apoptosis in HT29 cells. GI50 values were determined by MTT assay and...
Development and validation of a stability indicating HPLC method for analysis of Altretamine in bulk drug and pharmaceutical formulations
A simple, sensitive and accurate stability indicating HPLC method has been developed and validated for determination of Altretamine in its bulk form and pharmaceutical formulations. Chromatographic separation was achie...
Evaluation of in-vivo antiulcer activity of extracts from leaves of Pergularia Daemia (Forsk.) against ethanol induced ulcer in albino rats
The ethanolic extracts of Pergularia daemia (Forsk.) was evaluated for its gastro-protective function on ethanol induced ulcer in albino rats. The leaves of Pergularia daemia was subjected to continuous hot percolation...
