Evaluation of in-vitro anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activity on hydro-alcoholic extract of Murraya koenigii aerial parts
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Research in Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
Hydro alcoholic extract of Murraya koenigii aerial parts (family Rutaceae) was assessed for its antiinflammatory and anti-oxidant by in-vitro methods. In-vitro anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated using albumin denaturation assay and antioxidant activity was evaluated using phosphomolybdenum method at different concentrations (2mg/ml, 4mg/ml, 6mg/ml, 8mg/ml, 10mg/ml). Phenol, aceclofenac were used as standard drugs. The results obtained indicate that the hydroalcoholic extract of aerial parts of Murraya koenigii possessed significant level of activity; the extract was highly effective as a standard antiinflammatory and anti-oxidant drug.
