O ENSINO DE LÍNGUAS COMO ESPAÇO PARA A DIFUSÃO DO PORTUGUÊS NO MUNDO: ESTRATÉGIAS E AÇÕES DE POLÍTICAS LINGUÍSTICAS

Abstract
Considering the spread of Portuguese language around the world and the factors which have influenced the international visibility of the language, amongst them the various policies adopted for its promotion and valorization, this text aims at presenting a panorama of the demand for language professionals which have been establishing. The role of language teaching as a place for the implementation of policies for the diffusion of Portuguese is emphasized, that is, the language acquisition planning along with the status planning, two areas within the scope of Language Policy. Thus, it is presented a view on the possibilities and opportunities for Portuguese language teaching worldwide.
