O uso das fibras PET recicladas na indústria têxtil através da inovação e design sustentável

Abstract
Sustainable development is a major challenge in all areas and in the textile industry it is not different, because environmental impacts are generated at all stages of the productive processes – from the origin of the raw material to the disposal of the product by the consumer. The increasing environment degradation makes the recycling one of the assumptions of the concept of sustainable development, which, in turn, is rooted in the economic, social, ecological and cultural dimensions of human evolution. Thus, this study aims to analyze the state of the art of the recycling of PET packaging, considering the process, the expansion and the applicability of the fiber resulting from this recycling in the Brazilian textile industry and its relationship with sustainable design. Through this work, it was perceived that, in recent years, companies had a significant adherence to practices considered relevant for the understanding of the socio-environmental issues applied to the fashion system and to the textile sector.
