Odzyskanie przez Polskę niepodległości i początki Drugiej Rzeczpospolitej

Journal Title: Rocznik Kolbuszowski - Year 2018, Vol 18, Issue 18

Abstract

Independence regained after one hundred and twenty-three years of enslavement was possible thanks to the international situation favourable to Poland and the efforts made by the Poles themselves. Independence, nevertheless, did not mean that the borders were established. And the Poles had to fight for them using both diplomatic skills and armed forces. The struggle, however, did not concern only the borders but also a number of internal affairs; and it was an absolute necessity when taking into account that fact that the Polish state had been (until 2018) included in three different state organisms. Despite numerous difficulties, the final results were positive, which undoubtedly allowed the Poles to foster hope for a better‘tomorrow’.
