Overcoming the past or retrying: Ukrainian context

Abstract
The article tries to analyze a problem of overcoming a totalitarian past, the elements of which in various aspects are still in contemporary Ukrainian society. «Overcoming the past’ is considered as an integrated component of transformation processes, that takes part in post totalitarian states. The attention is paid to analyzing science publications of German, Russian and partially Ukrainian researchers investigating the problems of historical and cultural heritage.
