Paradoxes of Soviet class formation: creation and liquidation of kulaks as simultaneous process

Abstract

The author uses archive documents in the research of mass violent collectivization of peasant farms in the USSR in 30th of 20th century. There are analyzed the legislative acts regulating their classification and choice of kulak ones among others on the basis of certain indications. Documents confirm that liquidation of kulaks as a class was accompanied by mass deportation of repressed peasantry into the remote small villages in the northern and eastern regions of country. Later on, these settlements had been jointed in the common network. Afterwards, the priorities of urgent tasks had been changed. The problem to provide the national economy with resources of a forced labour obtains the meaning of a dominant task.
