PEDAGOGICAL BASES OF FUTURE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ TRAINING IN VALEOLOGICAL EDUCATION OF JUNIOR SCHOOLCHILDREN

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems of valeological education of junior schoolchildren and future primary school teachers’ training in the realization of this activity in primary school. A high level of teacher’s valeological culture involves a deliberate choice of learning modes and pedagogical technologies which do not do any harm to schoolchildren’s health; the ability to build psychologically competent communication with students, colleagues, parents and the ability to lead students to the conscious choice of their lifestyle and behaviour which increases the level of their own and other people’s health. Valeological approach in an educational activity, in our opinion, will promote the junior schoolchildren’s acquisition of certain sanitary and hygienic knowledge and skills aimed at pre- serving health. Thus, university students should master valeological knowledge of the factors influencing human health, principles and elements of healthy lifestyle, acquire the skills and abilities of self-assessment of the func- tional state of an organism, as well as assessing junior schoolchildren’s health. It is while studying at higher educational pedagogical institution, when professional orientation of the personal- ity of a future teacher is formed, there comes mastery of pedagogical techniques and technologies; fundamental knowledge is acquired. Taking into account the above said, it is necessary to help students understand the value of valeological knowledge, responsibility for health (their own children’s), and to develop professional valeological ideals. To attain this objective in pedagogical university becomes possible with the help of such subjects as “Fun- damentals of Medical Knowledge”, “Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene”, “Human Anatomy”, “Human Physiol- ogy”, and the implementation of the integrated optional course “Basics of Individual Health” which enhances inter- disciplinary ties and plays the role of the backbone.
