PEDAGOGY OF V. SUKHOMLINSKY AS THE BASIS FOR THE MODEL OF TRAINING FUTURE PHILOLOGISTS-UKRAINOLOGISTS

Abstract
The aim of the article was to analyze V. Sukhomlynskyi’s pedagogical heritage in the process of training students in performing the work on Ukrainian Studies (based on the experience of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University). In the research these methods were used: general scientific, historical, retrospective and research-bibliographic. While developing the training model of the future teachers of Ukrainian Studies these aspects were taken into consideration as a basis: V. Sukhomlynskyi’s pedagogical experience; concepts of Ukrainian Studies; experience of scientific-methodical and educational work of the Ukrainian Philology Department (Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University). V. Sukhomlynskyi combined literature and a human being in his works. He believed that the most important thing in teaching literature was that the work of art should form some noble moral features in the soul of a person, teach to live, so that the student could «perceived the work of art as a wonderful music». The study of works on the basis of literary concepts contributed not only to understanding of what was read, but also to the reader’s involvement into historical events, to the full disclosure of heroes’ (characters’) images, their character traits, deeds, and life values. The content of the literary material during the activity of a teacher and student must form national, civic, patriotic, spiritual and other orientations of I-Myself (I-personality of a young person). The created system of values should take into account personal needs and norms (historical, life-oriented, pedagogical situation), aesthetic assumptions, a civil position, etc. As a result of the study it was concluded that conceptual positions of the scientist-methodologist are still relevant because they promote the development of cognitive activity and schoolchildren’s activity. The teacher predicted a functional and communicative approach of teaching native language. And now they are being actively established in the modern methodology; he gave advice to teachers and methodologists. The teachers’ experience obtained at the Department of Ukrainian literature, Ukrainian Studies and their Teaching Methods makes it possible to conclude that V. Sukhomlinsky’s commandments about the need to ensure teacher’s philological erudition are being implemented. The scientific clubs, associations, master classes created at the designated department contribute not only to the best organization of educational activities, but also to a deeper understanding of literary works, which, in its turn, is fostered by the students’ participation in the work of the research laboratories «Training Problems of Students-Philologists in Ukrainian Studies at School» and «Theatre of Words», «Scientific and Methodological Centre for the Teacher’s Artistic and Pedagogical Creativity named after S. Pavlenko» and the literary-methodical cabinet which function on the basis of the department.
