PERSPECTIVES OF DEVELOPMENT AND PROBLEMS OF MODERN YOUTH IN UKRAINE

Journal Title: Наукові праці. Серія "Політологія" - Year 2017, Vol 309, Issue 297

Abstract

Today, the system of vital values and priorities of the younger generation is unstable and dependent on a number of external and internal factors prevailing in society. Volunteering is one of the activities of modern youth, starting with the end of 2013. After all, socio-political transformations in Ukraine, caused both by internal and external factors, gave impetus to self-organization of citizens, to increase patriotism and manifestations of philanthropy in society. Thus, volunteer organizations help servicemen, forced migrants in providing the necessary things, foodstuffs, medicines, providing them with psychological support in adapting to new living conditions. Since the signing of the political and economic parts of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union and the obtaining of a visa-free regime in Ukraine, the percentage of migration flows among the younger generation has increased considerably. This situation has both a positive and a negative result for our state. On the one hand, European integration processes help the younger generation to increase their level of knowledge and skills in European experience and implement it in Ukrainian practice; conducting various trainings; realization of various kinds of projects; discussion of topical issues of the establishment of international politics, etc. On the other hand, obtaining a visa-free regime has led to a significant outflow of Ukrainian human resources (students, young people, activists, scholars, etc.) for studying and working in the EU countries due to various circumstances. Thus, according to the results of the sociological survey «Youth of Ukraine – 2017», almost 54.1 % of people, of whom almost 40 % of the younger generation, want to emigrate from Ukraine to increase their material well-being or money earned. Such an indicator is an extremely acute problem for our country, first of all, this is a decrease in the population of our country (taking into account the low birth rate in Ukraine) and the outflow of educated young people in search of a better life abroad.
