Polish corporate credit market in comparison with other EU countries and the factors of its development in the next few years

Abstract
The primary purpose of the paper is to analyze the Polish corporate credit market and compare it with credit markets in other EU countries in terms of market size and growth rate. The paper also focuses on factors that will influence the corporate lending market development in the next few years. The study shows that during the financial and economic crisis, Poland reduced the development gap between its corporate lending market and markets of the euro area countries. Shortening the development gap was mostly due to the slower corporate credit market growth in in the euro area. The analysis shows that there is a high chance the ratio of corporate loans toGDPin Poland will grow faster than in the euro area countries.
