Practical approaches to the optimization of diagnostics and treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in Ukraine
Journal Title: Сучасна гастроентерологія - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 1
Abstract
The article outlines the main provisions of the Maastricht Consensus V (2015) concerning management of the H. pylori-infected patients. With account of the current scientific data, the practical recommendations for optimization of diagnosis and treatment of H. pylori infection in Ukraine have been provided. It has been emphasized that one of the practical aspects contributing to the effectiveness of H. pylori treatment is the predominant use of PPI in the anti-helicobacter therapy, with weak interaction with the cytochrome CYP2C19 isoenzyme, responsible for the PPI metabolism in the liver, such as rabeprazole. Moreover, the use of pre- and probiotics, in particular Lactobacilli or Saccharomyces boulardii, provided the promising results as regard the raised efficacy of eradication and reduction of the number of its side effects.
