Preparation and Incident Photon-to-Current Properties of Black Titanium Dioxide Nanotube Arrays

Journal Title: 河南科技大学学报(自然科学版) - Year 2018, Vol 39, Issue 1

Abstract

The titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanotube arrays were synthesized through an anodization method, and the preparation process were studied through morphology characterization by scanning electron microscopy. The black TiO2 nanotube arrays were prepared by high temperature hydrogenation process, and their crystal structure and optical absorption properties were probed by using X-ray diffraction and UV-visible spectroscopy, respectively. The photon-to-current property of the prepared black TiO2 nanotube arrays was studied. The results show that the TiO2 nanotube arrays are synthesized with a regular arrangement, smooth tube walls and clean ends, by using electrolyte solution 5% water volume, applied voltage 30 V and sonication in ethanol for30 min.The UV-vis spectroscopy reveals that visible light absorbing of black TiO2 nanotube arrays prepared by the high temperature hydrogenation method are enhanced. The incident photon-to-current properties of the black TiO2 nanotube arrays reveal photocurrent densities as high as 1.258 mA/cm2 under an bias voltage of1.23 V (vs standard hydrogen electrode) .
