Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of legality as a legal category, which is determined as a principle of state financial control, at various stages of development of Ukrainian statehood. The work of authors in the field of general theory of law, as well as in the field of legal theory of public finances, has been researched regarding their relation to legality as a principle of law. There has been proven the affirmation that the prevailing in the legal field attitude to legality as the principle of state financial control, currently requires additional research and revision.
