PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS AT CHINESE UNIVERSITIES (ON THE EXAMPLE OF HANGZHOU NORMAL UNIVERSITY)

Abstract
The article presents the results of questionnaire of English language teachers who work at Hangzhou Normal University (People’s Republic of China) on a topic: «English language teachers at the Chinese universities: professional development», which was conducted in June 2015. Questionnaire covers such topics as professional development, teaching methodology, educational qualification, teaching workload, teaching experience, assessment of teaching activities, ways to motivate students to learn English, it also identifys problems faced by teachers while teaching English to students and the problems faced by students while learning English.
