Prospects of development of medical insurance in Ukraine

Abstract
Annotation. The purpose of the article is to study medical insurance and financial security of health care, to identify problems and directions of improvement of the medical industry in Ukraine, as well as to take into account foreign experience. Methodology of research. Used methods of economic analysis and methods of empirical research, in particular observation, comparison, systemic-functional, functional-structural and holistic methods. Findings. The article is devoted to the introduction and prospects of development of medical insurance in Ukraine. The voluntary medical insurance and the prospects for the introduction of compulsory health insurance in the country were considered. We reviewed the basic models of financial provision of health care and selected the most promising for implementation in Ukraine. It was also considered foreign experience of financing of medicine. Practical value. The proposal directed to reform the healthcare system in Ukraine with subsequent transition to the compulsory insurance of the population. Positive consequences which are expected from the proposed system of measures for the implementation and development of insurance medicine in Ukraine will contribute to its further development and creation of conditions for full satisfaction of needs of the population in quality medical care.
