ПРОСТІР ПЕРЕХОДУ В НЕБУТТЯ: СИМВОЛІКА ЗОБРАЖЕННЯ В УКРАЇНСЬКОМУ РОМАННОМУ ДИСКУРСІ ДРУГОЇ ПОЛОВИНИ XIX СТОЛІТТЯ

Abstract
У статті проаналізовано специфіку функціонування символіки «простору переходу» в українському романному дискурсі другої половини XIX століття. Явний і підтекстовий смисл феномена психологічного помежів'я розкрито за допомогою культурних кодів ‒ ментальних моделей світу. The paper is devoted to the research of the peculiarities of the way Ukrainian novelists of the second half of the XIX century used world cultural heritage in the sphere of interpretation of philosophic problem of life and death dialectics. The subject of the article, correspondently, is studying of the specifics of functioning of the space of transition’s symbolism in the texts. The sense of the symbolism reveals by means of archetype, semiotic analysis of so called cultural codes – mental models of the world. The aim of the paper is to reveal peculiarities of art comprehension, techniques of showing of the symbols in the works of the big epic form of the named period. The methods used in the paper are archetype, semiotic analysis, which enabled the fullest depiction of the comparative component of the analysis. The main attention was paid to revealing of the peculiarities of the process of the transition into the eternity, basing on the example of the pieces of literature that reflect a wide subject-thematic spectrum and are of different aesthetic systems, and that gave a possibility to make more convincing conclusions. The certain aspect of the work is the poetics of the novels: we proved that the most convincing techniques of depicturing of the transition’s process are pathological states of psychic (somnambulism, delirium, hallucinations, agony), the dream that is depicted among others as a materialized symbols (cemeterial attributes, abyss, flocks of ravens, cypresses, spiders, caves) and respective non-material symbols (soul, life, death). The results can be applied for the further studying of the big epic form of the named period as well as for later period in a represented aspect. That will enable to widen largely the volume of the literature material and extend the aspects of studying of the peculiarities of depicturing the boundaries between death and life. Besides, indirect confirmation of growing influence of the tendency of anthropocentricity during this period is under discussion. That means the priority of subjectivity, psychologicalization, lyrication of epic forms. So, reference to the analysis of specifics of art embodiment of life space offer the challenge for the model of world studying as a whole, and that is important for identifying of the direction and dynamics of the literary process.
