PROTECTING A CHILD FROM CRIMINAL ATTACKS AS AN INTERNATIONAL LEGAL PROBLEM

Abstract
The article analyzes the issues of implementation of international legal norms in the national legislation, carried out on the basis of the analysis of such major international legal instruments as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention The United Nations Convention on the Protection of the Child, the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, etc. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the provisions of the Convention “On the Rights of the Child”, of which the need to establish a criminal liability for an attack on him directly follows. The analysis showed that the Criminal Code of Ukraine turned out to be a rather progressive law in the implementation of most international legal norms that require the criminal legal protection of the child from criminal encroachments.
