QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION DEPENDING ON EXPRESSIVENESS OF METABOLIC SYNDROME COMPONENTS

Abstract
Results of quality of life measurement of patients with arterial hypertension depending on expressiveness of metabolic syndrome components are presented. Women with full metabolic syndrome have significantly lower scores of physical and social functioning (-17 %, p=0,02 that-15 %, p=0,03 accordingly). Measures of obesity were correlated with scores from domains that measured physical health. Increase of body mass index in women associating with decrease of physical functioning (R =-0,23, p=0,03). However, 80 % of patients with I-II stage obesity considered quality of life quite satisfactory, and 47 % of women (CI 20-75) and 78 % of men (CI 20-75) didn’t report significant influence of disease on their life. These peculiarities essentially influences on comprehension by the patients of threats of a metabolic syndrome and decreases of motivation to life-style modification.
