QUELQUES ASPECTS DISCURSIFS D’UNE POLITESSE MONASTIQUE ORTHODOXE EXPRIMÉE EN LANGUE FRANÇAISE

Abstract

Abstract: We would like to submit an analysis of the discursive functioning and of the spiritual implications of some formal endings employed in the Orthodox Church in monastic environment in French language, starting from a corpus of three Orthodox works, one of which being written directly in French and the two others being translations. We will analyze the discursive manifestations of what we name monastic politeness through the study of formal endings used when Orthodox monks or believers address important spiritual fathers, as well as the ones that these last ones use when addressing the others or when humbly speaking about themselves. We will also study some lexical markers (the borrowings) used as polite formal endings that express, from a terminological point of view, some particularities of the spiritual traditions within the original countries of the protagonists, namely Greece and Romania. Résumé: Nous aimerions proposer une analyse du fonctionnement discursif et des implications spirituelles de quelques formules et termes d’adresse employés dans l’Orthodoxie, en milieu monastique et en langue française, à partir d’un corpus constitué de trois ouvrages de spiritualité orthodoxe, dont un écrit directement en français et deux traductions. Nous analyserons les formes de manifestation discursive de ce que nous appellerons une politesse monastique à travers l’étude des formules d’adresse employées à l’égard de quelques grands pères spirituels par d’autres moines orthodoxes et des fidèles, ainsi qu’au niveau de celles que les premiers utilisent à l’égard des autres, ou bien pour se désigner eux-mêmes, avec humilité. Nous étudierons également quelques marques lexicales (des emprunts) employées en tant que formules polies d’adresse, qui expriment du point de vue terminologique certaines particularités des traditions spirituelles des pays orthodoxes d’origine des protagonistes, respectivement, la Grèce et la Roumanie.
