Abstract
The term «motivation» was first used at the beginning of the 20 th century. Motivation is the basis of anyactivity. It is the main condition of the effective educational process. At present teachers run across mostly very low motivation of students and that becomes a great problem as the effectiveness of educational process in the university is determined by the mutual attempts of both sides: teachers and students. Lowmotivation of students very often becomes a demotivating factor for a teacher, besides students are inclined to blame the teacher in their poor educational results. Motivation is an inner process and other people,including teachers, can only stimulate it. The role of the teacher is extremely important in the process offorming motivation. The teacher can influence not just situational but contextual and global levels of motivationas well. Increasing of the motivation of the teacher is one of the most important factors that influence themotivation of students
