Regression Models for Quality Characteristics of IS-2062 Steel Welding by Saw Process

Abstract
Due to high deposition rates, Submerged#Arc#Welding#(SAW) an arcwelding#process used in structural manufacturing. A study was undertaken to analyze Submerged_Arc_Welding_(SAW) on IS-2062 Steel_plates. Result obtained presented here are based on experimental study on the influence of welding current, arc voltage, welding speed and nozzle to plate distance in a semi automatic submerged welding that is typical IS-2062 steel plates. This is found out that weld_bead_penetration, weld_bead_width and weld strength which are affected mostly due to the weldingcurrent and arc voltage. Greater magnitude of arc voltage and current led to better mechanical_properties. A set of empirical_relations are established to evaluate the weld_bead dimensions and mechanical properties as function of the welding conditions. The forecasts from the empirical_relations and the equivalent measured outcomes are perceived to be in reasonable agreement with the confirmation tests performed
