In a cross-sectional correlation study, study population included 45 mothers of exceptional children assigned in the three subgroups of deaf, mentally retarded and blind children (each one included 15 mothers) who resident in Bam city between 2012 and 2013. The Islamic coping style questionnaire and the Oxford Happiness Inventory were used for assessing Islamic copying style score and happiness score, respectively. A strong positive association was revealed between Islamic coping style score and happiness score examined by the Pearson’s correlation coefficient test (Beta = 0.347, p = 0.020). No discrepancy was shown in Islamic coping style score across different subgroups of mothers with deaf, mentally retarded and blind children tested by the ANOVA test (F = 2.410, p = 0.102). While, a considerable significant difference was observed in happiness score between these three subgroups of mothers (F = 42.799, p < 0.001) that the mean scores of happiness was significantly higher in those mothers with deaf children compared with other subgroups of mothers examined by the Scheffe test (m = -16.066, p < 0.001).
