Reliability Sampling Plans: A Review and some New Results
Journal Title: Journal of Applied Quantitative Methods - Year 2009, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
In this work we present a large area of aspects related to the problem of sampling inspection in the case of reliability. First we discuss the actual status of this domain, mentioning the newest approaches (from a technical view point) such as HALT and HASS and the statistical perspective. After a brief description of the general procedure in sampling inspection, we offer what we did call here as „personalized procedures”: this means that we take into consideration the specific statistical law for time-to-failure. The original part refers to the construction of (n, 0) sampling plans and the use of ISO standard 2859 (MILSTD 105 E, the American original) in order to derive sampling plans by linking the AQL indicator (a defective fraction, in fact) to the hazard rate function. Some examples are given and necessary tables are provided also.

Modeling the Reliability of Information Management Systems based on Mission Specific Tools Set Software
The operational environments in which information management systems operate determine the existence of complex situations. Consequently, the command and control flow can take different paths, which involve different “se...
ANALYSIS AND MODELLING OF A SOCIO-TECHNOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK FOR SCIENTIFIC COLLABORATION
The scientific development of different disciplines at the beginning of the 21th century can only be conceived in an interdisciplinary context. This fact implies both an in-depth documentation and cooperation among the s...
A Mathematical Deterministic Approach in Modeling National Economic Evolution
In this work a regression model based on total least squares approach is presented. An application of the theoretical results in estimating the tendency of some countries economic evolution is given.
Logistic Regression to Describe How the Relationship between Social Connection and Self-Rated Health Varies by Gender
Social Scientists and health researchers have allocated a great deal of time trying to understand the social correlates of health outcomes, some in the question of the association between social relationships and such ou...
Qualifying Purchase Intentions Using Queueing Theory
We propose that a consumer’s purchase behaviour emulates a cognitive framework such that an appropriately selected queueing model can be used to assess the credibility of a consumer’s expression of purchase intention to...
