Journal Title: Journal of Medical Research and Practice - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
Horseshoe kidney (HSK) is the most common fusion anomaly. HSK is predisposed to a variety of problems, including calculus formation and infections, but malignancy is rare in HSK. There are only a total of about 200 cases of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in HSK reported in literature. We present a 75-year-old male who presented with a lump in the abdomen who on investigation was found to be having RCC in HSK. The patient underwent a heminephrectomy of right side with isthmectomy.
