Renal cell carcinoma metastasis to oral cavity tissues

Abstract
Introduction: Apart from primary neoplasms metastatic tumours are also encountered in the head and neck region. The incidence of isolated cancer metastasis to organs of the head and neck is estimated to be about 1%.Aim of the study: To discuss the incidence, location, clinical symptoms and treatment of patients with metastasis of clear cell cancer to oral tissues, on the basis of literature data and own observations of two patients.Conclusion: The role of the maxillofacial surgeon in early detection, diagnosis and, most of all, treatment of metastasis of renal tumour to oral tissues has been highlighted.
