Research on Paired Approach Procedure to Closed Spaced Parallel Runways and its Collision Risk

Abstract
The paired operation mode to closed spaced parallel runways were introduced to improve the running efficiency of the runway. The process of the two aircraft from the final approach to the entry point of the runway was shown by presenting the change of its speed and distance. Based on the hypothesis, the kinematics model was established to analyze the change of the collision risk between two aircrafts in the process. The influence of initial separation and maximum permissible separation on the collision risk of two aircrafts was also analyzed.Finally, the model was proved to be effective by simulating. The maximum collision risk can be controlled at 3. 471 × 10-11 time per flight hour.
