Research progress on risk factors of low back pain in military flight personnel

Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 11

Abstract

Low back pain is one of the most common symptoms in military pilots. Pilots of different types of aircrafts often experience low back pain in various proportions, which seriously affects mission completion, reduces combat effectiveness, and even threatens flight safety. At the same time, it also affects pilots'psychological health, social skills and quality of life. It is of great significance to correctly understand the epidemiological characteristics and risk factors of low back pain in pilots, as well as actively prevent and treat it for improving pilots' flight performance, reducing the occurrence of flight accidents and enhancing the combat effectiveness of troops. This paper presents a literature review of the epidemiology, risk factors, and treatment of low back pain in military pilots by searching databases such as CNKI, CQVIP and PubMed, and proposes coping strategies for low back pain in flight personnel.
