Results of experimental research of moving sprung mass to lateral stability of vehicle

Abstract

The latest military action has given experience in the use of combat wheeled vehicles. This showed the need to develop methods for controlling the parameters of lateral stability. The movement of machines with a high center of mass is dangerous in difficult road conditions. There is a risk of overturning the vehicle while overcoming obstacles. These machines are equipped with electronic stability control systems. These electronic systems estimate the alignment of the angle of rotation of the driven wheels by lateral acceleration, which arise when driving on a curve, but this does not provide a prognostication of the stability of the rectilinear motion before the maneuver. Experts from well-known companies that manufacture and evaluate the safety of machinery, confirm the need to develop such methods of control of stability. The author proposes the model which provides such control. Check adequacy improved mathematical models was carried out by the results of an experimental study of the influence movement sprung mass relative to the center of rotation on the lateral stability of the vehicle. The experiment results confirmed the reliability of the results of the simulation process of overcome a single obstacles by vehicle. This confirmed the adequacy of the improved model, of the method of determining the critical values of parameters microprofile areas for different speeds of the vehicle.
