Risk factors and complications with diabetic foot in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus over 35 years old

Abstract

the diabetic foot constitutes one of the main diabetes mellitus chronic complications. Its social impact is evident through its high morbidity, high rate of amputations and high economic cost.Analyzing the risk factors allows us to act in a timely mannerin the diagnosis and management of diabetic foot, determining a significant improvement in quality of life. Objective:To validate instruments in orden to measure the risk factors that affect diabetic foot complications in patients over 35 years of age attending the Liborio Panchana Hospital in the province of Santa Elena.Materials and methods: an evaluative and cross-sectional field study was carried out. The quantitative-qualitative instruments that will measure the risk factors were validated by expertjudgments.Results:within the data obtained, Validity was 85.72%, Relevance 87.13% and Coherence was 88.52% in its totality of 263.71, giving us a result of 87.90% reliability.Conclusion: risk factors for diabetic foot should be classified in such a wayas to facilitate their recognition and management with a high frequency of risk factors for the appearance and development of complications
