Розробка методики діагностики відданості організації (The development of a staff's organizational commitment diagnostic instrument)

Abstract

The article presents the results of the development and validation of the instrument to diagnose employees' commitment to the organization based on the author’s concept of organizational commitment. Organizational commitment is defined in the context of employees' loyalty and is made up of two components: the employees' loyalty to the organization and their pro-organizational activities. Based on the dictionary definitions, relevant scientific works and his own research, the author discusses the partly synonymous concepts of employees' organizational commitment and employees' loyalty to the organization. To the author's mind, organizational commitment is a moral measure of employees' attachment to the organization, whereas employees’ loyalty to the organization is a legal measure of their attachment to the organization. The most important effect of employees' organizational commitment is minimization of the risks of their betrayal, i.e. employees' inflicting damage to the organization due to their personal interests. The author also analyzes the results of a psychometric test of the diagnostic instrument’s reliability and validity and its factor structure.
