RUSSIAN ESTIMATES OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE UKRAINIAN CRISIS ON THE RUSSIAN–U.S. RELATIONS IN 2014–2016

Abstract
Russian foreign policy thought of influence of the Ukrainian crisis on the Russian-American relations is considered in the article. The Ukrainian crisis is a catalyst of their prompt deterioration. The main views of representatives of the Russian political and academic community concerning essence of events in Ukraine and to their impact on relationship of Moscow and Washington are analyzed. According to the majority of the Russian politicians and experts, a large share of the blame for the aggravation of the situation in the Russian-U.S. relations lies with the West and especially with the United States. The available opinions on a state and prospects of the Russian-U.S. relations are characterized. In particular, the points of view of the famous Russian statesmen and experts – D. Medvedev, S. Lavrov, S. Naryshkin, A. Pushkov, I. Ivanov, S. Karaganov, S. Rogov, D. Trenin, A. Arbatov, N. Arbatova, M. Bratersky, V. Batyuk, S. Glazyev, L. Ivashov, E. Solovyov, and others are presented. The author emphasizes the presence in the Russian political and academic community of different views on the Russian-U.S. relations. So, some politicians and experts consider that between Moscow and Washington has begun a new «Cold War», others think differently. Different opinions among representatives of the Russian political and academic community, and about the possible prospects of Russian-U.S. relations, although the vast majority of experts do not expect them to improvement in the near future.
